STEVE PAPA

Athletic Director

Pascack Hills High School

Mr. Papa has been an extraordinary leader and unwavering supporter of the Pascack Hills athletic department, consistently going above and beyond to ensure every program runs smoothly and successfully. Since becoming Athletic Director in 2020, he has navigated significant challenges, including the pandemic and a district-mandated mascot change, handling community concerns with professionalism, poise, and diplomacy. He dedicates extraordinarily long hoursβ€”often from 7 AM to 10 PMβ€”to support athletes, coaches, and staff, creating a culture of excellence and trust. Beyond logistics, Mr. Papa champions inclusivity and innovation, exemplified by his support of the Unified Club for special needs students, enabling them to compete in sports like bowling and track, and by fostering opportunities such as student-run sports broadcasting, giving students agency to grow and thrive. Beginning his career as an athletic trainer in 2002, Mr. Papa has built a legacy defined by hard work, compassion, and a forward-thinking approach that strengthens both the athletic department and the broader Pascack Hills community.
