Derek Pretre is being nominated for the way he consistently elevates every Marysville program and makes each activity feel like the most important thing happening for students, families, and the broader community. He went the extra mile to complete a dedicated girls wrestling room, giving athletes a space to train with pride while also creating more convenient access for the youth wrestling program. Known for his visibility across campus, he supports everything from choir concerts to game-night setup, ensuring no sport or activity gets special treatment above another. He has also strengthened district communication by launching a newsletter and expanding event promotion through Gipper, helping build awareness and excitement around Marysville teams. Since joining in the 2024–2025 school year, Derek has brought calm, solutions-first leadership and a willingness to rethink traditions to improve the student experience.
