COLLEEN KELLEY

Athletic Director

Middletown High School

Colleen's leadership has transformed Middletown High School athletics into a model of excellence, inclusion, and community spirit. In addition to flawlessly managing the demanding daily and annual responsibilities of an athletic director, she consistently goes above and beyond to enrich the experiences of student-athletes, coaches, and families. She founded the Athletic Leadership Committee in 2017, empowering representatives from every sport to build leadership skills, promote sportsmanship, and create a positive culture through monthly meetings and impactful service projects such as Parent Night Out, Stockings for Soldiers, pep rallies, and community volunteer events. Colleen’s coaching staff deeply respects her steady guidance and collaborative approach, supported by her year-round availability, structured meetings, program evaluations, and thoughtful recognition of coaches through social media spotlights. Her Sportsmanship Campaign has become a cornerstone of school culture—offering initiatives such as NFHS free-admission incentives, Blue Heart DNA chains, sportsmanship goodie bags, and Officials Appreciation Week—while her dedication to Unified Sports ensures every athlete receives equitable treatment, visibility, and support. A visionary leader, she enhanced school pride by creating the MHS Hallway of Champions, fundraising for décor and a new trophy case, and celebrating excellence across academics, athletics, and sportsmanship. Colleen’s meticulous organization, fiscal responsibility, and unwavering commitment to best practices have earned her the admiration of fellow athletic directors, coaches, and students alike. Tireless, innovative, and profoundly dedicated, Colleen has elevated the MHS athletic program in every measurable way, leaving a lasting legacy of integrity, opportunity, and excellence.
