PAT WOODS
Athletic Director
Valley View School District
Pat is actively transforming the entire athletics program at Bolingbrook High School through his relentless work ethic, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to elevating every student-athlete. Beyond tirelessly promoting all sports throughout the building, he has reshaped the athletic experience by upgrading facilities to some of the best in the state—including a fully revitalized fieldhouse and a weight room that now rivals collegiate programs. Pat’s dedication to creating meaningful opportunities is evident in the extraordinary experiences he has secured for athletes, from sending the boys basketball team to compete in Hawaii to providing the boys volleyball team the chance to play in Texas at the First Point Federation tournament. His leadership has also brought major events to Bolingbrook, such as the boys state tournament and the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association Coaching Clinic—each requiring countless hours of preparation and coordination that he embraces wholeheartedly. Pat’s investment in people is equally profound; he has strengthened the coaching community by leading professional development focused on unity, collaboration, and shared program success, fostering a culture that extends well beyond individual sports. His collaboration on initiatives to celebrate female athletes—including guest speakers, wellness events, service opportunities, and schoolwide recognition—demonstrates his commitment to equity and holistic development. With ongoing improvements to the main gym and discussions around new athletic locker rooms, Pat continues to push the program forward with patience, diligence, and vision. In every way, he is building a culture and infrastructure that prepare Bolingbrook’s athletes to thrive at the next level and leave a lasting legacy of excellence.
