Emily has redefined what it means to lead an athletics department by grounding every decision, every initiative, and every relationship in a deep commitment to belonging, inclusion, and genuine community connection—values she helped build from the moment she transitioned from assistant to Athletic Director. Under her leadership, participation across programs has grown, youth sports pipelines have strengthened through intentional grassroots outreach, and seven transformational head coaches have joined the department, each selected for their ability to build meaningful relationships and foster a family-driven culture. Emily’s leadership style is transparent and student-centered; she regularly seeks feedback from coaches, assistants, athletes, and parents to shape future decisions, and she even created #todaywithSteinmetz to give students aspiring to careers in athletic administration an authentic look at the work behind the scenes. Her community impact is unmistakable—every athlete, at every level, is featured in media day and across their vibrant social channels, ensuring visibility and celebration for all, not just the stars. She and her teams visit local elementary schools for National Reading Day, Falcon Family Fridays, and clinics, extending program values far beyond campus and modeling what it means to be part of the Falcon family. As a leader, Emily champions equity at every turn: varsity is not elevated above JV or freshman teams; all athletes receive the same gear, the same development opportunities, and equal access to sports performance resources; and every program is treated with respect regardless of popularity or revenue. A former collegiate athlete who found her purpose in shaping experiences rather than seeking the spotlight, Emily brings together her passion for sport and her drive to quietly fuel success from behind the scenes. She doesn’t need headlines to know the culture she is building at Perry Meridian is extraordinary—one where every student feels valued, seen, and proud to wear Falcon blue.
