United States Naval Academy - Class of 2026
Freshman Year (2022) - Ava began her collegiate career at the Naval Academy as a freshman middle blocker.She appeared in 12 matches and 31 sets before her season was cut short by an injury in early October. Notable performances include an 8-kill match with a .800 hitting percentage (8-0-10) against Rhode Island, and a solid outing versus Albany.
Sophomore Year (2023) - Ava returned and appeared in 8 matches and 21 sets, including solid contributions in postseason play. In the Patriot League tournament semifinal against Colgate, she posted an efficient stat line: 7 kills, 0 errors, .438 attack percentage, 4 blocks, and 2 digs. She finished the season with a total of 23 kills. Numerous academic honors also came her way... Ava was named to the 2023 Patriot League All-Tournament Team and recognized for her strong academics.
Junior Year (2024) - Ava had a breakout season—playing in 25 matches and starting 23 of them, across 83 sets. (Naval Academy Athletics)She led Navy in total blocks, ranked second in hitting percentage, and third in total kills. During the season, she averaged 1.61 kills per set, 0.87 blocks per set, with a .258 hitting percentage. During league play, she elevated those to 1.65 kills, 0.96 blocks, and a .265 attack percentage. In her junior year, she delivered impressive cumulative stats: 134 kills, 72 blocks, 44 digs, and 12 aces. Her standout performance came at Army West Point: 13 kills and 18.5 points in that match.
Leadership & Captaincy - Heading into her senior year (Fall 2025), Ava has been named captain of the Navy volleyball team, reflecting her growth into a respected leader. Coach Paco Labrador praised her as a “true servant leader” who overcame challenges—including her freshman injury—while growing into Navy's top attacker and blocker by spring. He commended her “empathy and accountability.”
Academics - Academically, she continued to excel—earning honors in four of her semesters and being named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
