Lauren Martinho

Duke University - Class of 2028

Lauren Martinho has quickly made her mark in women’s soccer, excelling both at Duke University and on the international stage with the U.S. Youth National Teams. A dynamic midfielder and forward, she is known for her creativity, composure, and ability to change the game in key moments.

Her international résumé is already impressive. She was a member of the U-17 U.S. squad that won the 2022 CONCACAF Championship, scoring in the final against Mexico to help secure the title. Later that year, she represented the United States at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India, where the team advanced to the quarterfinals. In 2023, Martinho elevated to the U-20 level, where she scored the game-winning goal in the semifinal of the CONCACAF Championship, securing the U.S. a spot in the 2024 FIFA U-20 World Cup. She also competed at the 2023 Pan American Games with the U-19 team, earning a bronze medal.

Even while balancing international duty, Martinho made her presence felt at Duke. Though an ACL injury sidelined her for the 2024 season, her freshman year showed her promise as an attacking playmaker and steady two-way contributor. She has been a regular call-up to U-20 camps and international matches, training against some of the best young talent in the world and preparing for her return to college soccer.

Lauren’s blend of skill, leadership, and resilience has made her one of the brightest young players in the country. With a decorated history in U.S. Soccer and the drive to return stronger at Duke, she stands poised to be a cornerstone for both her college program and future national teams.
