Asia Thigpen

Early Life & High School Highlights - Asia Thigpen, hailing from Cary, North Carolina, made a name for herself as a dynamic and versatile volleyball player. During her high school career at Green Level High Schools, she earned top honors across the state. Asia was named First Team All-State, recognized as her conference MVP, and was ranked as the No. 1 recruit in North Carolina by PrepVolleyball. At Green Level, her impressive stats—like 364 kills and strong hitting percentages—reflected her all-around high-level performance.

College Career at the University of Kentucky - Asia joined the Kentucky Wildcats as a 5'11" outside hitter and libero, continuing to stand out with both her leadership and adaptability. In her freshman season, she earned a spot on the 2024 SEC All-Freshman Team and was named SEC Freshman of the Week (October 21, 2024). Her season highlights included a career-high 16 digs vs. Georgia and an outstanding 15 kills (.583 hitting percentage) vs. Tennessee, even after returning from a knee injury.

All-American - Asia was named an All-American in 2023 by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA). In January 2024, Asia played in the Under Armour All-America Game held in Orlando, Florida.
