Early Life & High School Highlights – Josh Smith, from Cary, North Carolina, made his mark at Green Level High School as a dominant face‐off specialist and midfield contributor. He was named First Team All-Conference in his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years, and First Team All-Region his Junior and Senior years. In state recognition, he was Third-Team All-State as a Sophomore, then First Team All-State in both his Junior and Senior seasons. In addition, Josh served as a 2-time team captain at Green Level, and was named a US Lacrosse All-American in high school.

College Career at Marist University – Josh joined the Marist Red Foxes as a freshman face-off specialist. At Marist, he has already appeared in all 16 games during his first season, contributing in face-off wins and playing a key role in transitions and ground ball battles.

All-American Recognition – During his senior high school year (2024), Josh Smith was honored nationally as a US Lacrosse High School All-American, recognizing his outstanding performance and impact among elite players across the country.

Legacy & Records – Josh’s record at Green Level includes holding the North Carolina state record for total face-off wins with 1,027. He remains one of Green Level’s most celebrated lacrosse players, particularly in the specialized role of face-offs, where his dominance and consistency set him apart. At Marist, he is already contributing in his first year, and many look forward to how he will build on his high school success.
