Maggie Childress is in her fourth year overall in Athletic Administration and third year as the Assistant Athletic Director here at Green Level. Maggie also serves as the Head Coach for JV Girls' Basketball and is an assistant coach for Varsity Girls' Basketball at The Swamp. In the classroom, she currently teaches AP World History: Modern as well as Economics & Personal Finance, where she enjoys teaching freshmen about the greater world and seniors about life skills and improving financial literacy.

A 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year at Alston Ridge Middle, Maggie was a Top 10 finalist for the WCPSS Teacher of the Year. She is currently a mentor for the Wake County Beginning Teacher Support Program and relishs growing the teaching profession with passionate young educators. Maggie is a member of both the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) as well as the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies (NCCSS).     

Maggie earned both her BA in History (2015) and MA in Social Studies Education (2017) at Virginia Tech, where she served in various positions with Virginia Tech Women's Basketball, which culminated with a Graduate Assistantship in 2016. In addition to her time as an undergraduate student manager with VTWB, she also played with Virginia Tech Women's Club Basketball. Outside of the classroom, Maggie enjoys traveling, learning about the world, and is an avid reader.
