Will Estes

Will Estes made a name for himself at Green Level High School as one of the rare athletes who excelled in not just one, but three demanding sports—football, wrestling, and men’s lacrosse.

On the football field, Estes was a force on the defensive side of the ball. During both his junior and senior year, Will was one of the top defenders in the SWAC. His impact was recognized with multiple First-Team All-Conference selections, cementing him as one of the top defenders in the league. His tenacious playing style and energy made Will a force to reckoned with on the football field.

When winter rolled around, Estes shifted his focus to the wrestling mat, where his competitive fire and toughness shined just as bright. Competing in the 215-pound class, he became a three-time conference champion and a two-time state qualifier, earning a reputation as one of the program’s toughest and most gifted wrestlers. Known for his intensity and skill, Will compiled over 100 wins during his high school career and is arguably the most talented wrestler in Green Level history.

In the spring, Estes transitioned to lacrosse, where his defensive skills once again set him apart. Playing long-stick defense, he was a disruptive force for opposing offenses, tallying 30 takeaways and 40 ground balls during his senior year. In the 2025 state playoffs, Estes delivered standout performances, including four takeaways in wins over both Jordan and Chapel Hill, helping push Green Level deep into the postseason. During the 2024 season, Will was a key contributor to the team's NCHSAA 4A State Championship.

Across three sports, Estes proved to be the ultimate competitor. Whether chasing down quarterbacks, pinning opponents on the mat, or stripping the ball from attackers on the lacrosse field, he brought energy, toughness, and a winning mindset. His career at Green Level stands as a testament to what’s possible when talent meets work ethic, and his legacy is one of the most versatile and impactful athletes to come through the school.
