Haley Brooks, HS Volleyball

Haley Brooks was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, and graduated from Highland Park High School in 2010, where she played volleyball and basketball. Her love for volleyball began in middle school after watching other students play, and she quickly found her place as a libero and defensive specialist. Her dedication to the sport earned her a full-ride volleyball scholarship to Clarendon College before she later transferred to West Texas A&M University. Outside of coaching, Haley serves as the Primary Building Secretary and Social Media and Website Coordinator. She also enjoys photography, art, crafting, authentic Mexican food, hibachi, Christian music, and visiting new places, with Key West, Florida, being her favorite destination so far.

Haley began coaching high school volleyball in August 2023 at Larned and has also coached recreational volleyball and middle school basketball. As a coach, she is passionate about teaching athletes the mechanics of the game, developing their skills, and helping grow the volleyball program. One of her biggest goals is to help her athletes pursue opportunities to play volleyball at the college level and one day watch them compete beyond high school. She believes success takes time, patience, and consistent effort, and she especially enjoys seeing her players understand the importance of communication and teamwork. Some of her favorite coaching moments include watching a great attack or an incredible out-of-system save.

Haley hopes her athletes remember her as someone they could relate to, who cared about them, held them accountable, and pushed them to become the best versions of themselves both on and off the court. Her message to her athletes is simple: "We will always make mistakes; it's how we learn from them that makes us better than where we were." Through her coaching, Haley strives to build confidence, strengthen team culture, and help young athletes grow not only as volleyball players but also as individuals.
