Ty Josefiak, HS Football
Ty Josefiak is a proud native of Rozel, Kansas, and a Pawnee Heights High School graduate. He continued his education at Kansas State University and has remained deeply connected to the Pawnee Heights community throughout his career. Outside of coaching, Ty enjoys raising his four children with his wife, Kayla, and being involved in the family farming operation. His love for sports started as soon as he could walk, and growing up, he competed in football, basketball, golf, and track and field. He says he misses the days of playing sports alongside the kids he grew up with.
After graduating from Kansas State, Ty began his coaching career at Pawnee Heights in 2010, starting with basketball. Since then, he has coached both football and basketball at the junior high and high school levels. Throughout his coaching journey, he has helped rebuild the Pawnee Heights boys basketball program from the ground up, culminating in a Final Four finish in 2021. He also led the junior high football program to its first win in nearly a decade during his one year as head coach and was part of the Pawnee Heights football team that earned a regional playoff win in 2025 as an assistant coach. One of his most memorable coaching moments was the team's state basketball victory at South Haven.
For Ty, coaching is about much more than wins and losses. He enjoys watching athletes improve, building lasting friendships with his players, and developing relationships with coaches throughout the state. His goal is to teach athletes to never give up, handle adversity, and keep moving forward when life gets difficult. When he looks back on his coaching career, he hopes to be remembered as a coach who cared more about his athletes than any win or loss record and who always poured his heart and soul into giving his teams the best chance to succeed. Away from coaching, Ty enjoys spending time with his family, watching his children compete, farming, and running a tractor or combine. His favorite teams include the Kansas State Wildcats, San Francisco 49ers, and Kansas City Chiefs, while his favorite coach is Bill Snyder and his favorite athletes are Jerry Rice and Patrick Mahomes. His advice to his athletes is simple: “I love each and every one of you and am always here if you need anything.”
