Outstanding Contributions

Bob Thompson was extremely instrumental in the creation of the Olympia Consolidated School District as he served as President of the first Olympia School Board in 1967.  A graduate of Atlanta High School in 1944, Mr. Thompson went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.  After returning home, he graduated from the University of Illinois in 1950 with a degree in agriculture.   Mr. Thompson served on the Atlanta National Bank board, of which he was a past president, and was the current president of the Eminence Grain and Coal Co. board. He was a former Boy Scout leader and Eminence Township assessor.
