Class of 2010 - Outstanding Achievement/ Distinguished Graduate

Laura Canopy is a 2010 top 20 high honors graduate of Olympia High School. While in high school, Laura was involved in softball, basketball, swimming and FFA. Laura received many softball honors. She was a part of a very successful softball team in her 4 years of high school. Individually she earned first team all-state her junior and senior year. After high school, Laura attended Illinois State University, where she played softball and obtained a masters degree in accounting. In her time at Illinois State Laura achieved many accolades. Those include: MVC Scholar Athlete, MVC Second Team her sophomore year, MVC First Team her junior and senior year.  She was also a finalist for Illinois State University Female Athlete of the year. After her four years, she became a student assistant and then a graduate assistant to the softball team.  After graduating from Illinois State with her masters in Accounting in 2016, Laura landed a job as a staff auditor at Kerber, Eck & Braeckel. Since then she has worked her way up to becoming a CPA and Audit Manager.
