At the 2026 North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) 8A Boys Tennis Individual State Championships, held on May 9, 2026, at Millbrook Exchange Park in Raleigh, sophomore Rishit Sharma delivered a historic performance for Green Level High School. Sharma captured the 8A Individual Singles State Championship, defeating Jordan's Bryant Ross in a thrilling three-set final, 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 6-0. After winning a tightly contested first-set tiebreak, Sharma responded to dropping the second set by dominating the deciding set to secure the first individual tennis state title of his career.

Sharma's championship performance marked a milestone for Green Level Athletics, as he became the first individual boys tennis state champion in school history. His resilience, composure, and ability to perform under pressure throughout the tournament highlighted both his individual talent and the continued success of the Green Level boys tennis program.

Throughout the 2026 season, Sharma established himself as one of North Carolina's premier tennis players. As a sophomore, Rishit Sharma became one of the youngest individual state champions in Green Level history.
