Sadie Wortman

Sadie Wortman earned an Emerald Gator Award in 2026 after completing a standout career in cross country and track and field that placed her among the finest distance runners in Green Level history and in the state of North Carolina. A fierce competitor and consummate teammate, Wortman delivered at the highest levels across multiple seasons and multiple events, capping her career with a commitment to compete at the Division I level at Appalachian State University.

In cross country, Wortman helped lead the Green Level team to the 2025 NCHSAA 8A state and regional championships, earning 8A all-state honors in the process. She was also the 2025 Quad City Seven Cross Country Conference Champion. Her individual finish of 18:48.64 at the 2025 NCHSAA State Meet — 7th in the 8A classification — earned her a spot on the HighSchoolOT All-State Girls Cross Country Team. On the track, she was the NCHSAA 4A Mideast Regional runner-up in both the 3,200 meters and the 4×800-meter relay. In indoor track, she ran a 10:58.86 in the 3,200 meters, finishing 2nd in the 8A classification. In 2026, she was the Quad City 7 Conference Champion in Cross Country, 1600m (Indoor), 1600m (Outdoor), and 3200m (Outdoor).
