John Grenier
John is a 3-sport varsity athlete with 8 semesters of honors in school. He showed his leadership skills as the VP of the French National Honors Society and captain of both the football and the wrestling team in the fall and winter seasons of his senior year. Throughout his junior and senior year, John taught French to 1st and 3rd graders on Wednesdays as a part of the French Mentors group. He was a mentor for 8th graders and freshman his sophomore, junior and senior year as well. In 2016 he was chosen as a SMAA Student Athlete Summit Leader Representative and in2017 John was inducted into the WCSH 6 Varsity Club. As a part of the National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society, John has shown excellence throughout his academics finishing his junior year as magna cum laude. In football John was a three-year varsity athlete who received the "Noble" Award in both his junior and senior seasons along with being selected apart of the SMAA All American Team and a nominee for the 2018 Shriners Lobster Bow! all-star game. As captain of the Wrestling team, John was a four-year varsity athlete, receiving over 130 career wins.He was selected for the SMAA All Conference 2nd Team in 2016 and 2017, 2x Class A South Regional Runner-up (2016,), Class A South Regional Champ (2018), 3x Class A State Qualifier (2016, 2017, 2018), Class A State Runner-up (2018), 3x All-State Qualifier (2016, 2017, 2018), All-State Runner-up (2018), and New England Qualifier (2018). He has also spent many hours volunteering for the youth and jr. High Wrestling teams. John Started track his junior year and was a State Qualifier for the long jump, and 4x100. He is very excited for his final season of sports this spring. In the fall he plans to attend Franklin Pierce University to pursue a degree in music on a Presidential Scholarship.
