Felix Rothwell

Felix lives in Acton with his mom, Irene, and his dad, Bob. He has balanced a rigorous academic schedule with diverse leadership roles and consistent athletic commitment throughout his high school career. His leadership within the school community includes serving as the current President of both the Environmental Club and the Latin Honor Society, as well as the Secretary for the National Honor Society. He is also a current member of the Spanish Honor Society. Felix is the captain of the Cross Country and Indoor Track team. His dedication to these programs is reflected in his four-year participation in varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field as well as his two years on the varsity Cross Country team. During this time, he competed in the SMAA regional championships for four years in Indoor Track and two years in Outdoor Track. He achieved a third place finish in high jump at the USM New Year’s Eve Invitational. He is also a recipient of the Noble Award in Cross Country. Felix has a deep passion for botany and ecology which has led him to collect and care for over 300 plants, complete several university-level courses in horticulture and ecology, and develop a fungi-based biotextile for the Maine State Science Fair to address textile waste. He is currently working toward both the STEM Endorsement and a SEAL Endorsement while also preparing to take the Seal of Biliteracy Exam in Spanish and in Latin. Throughout high school he has taken five AP classes, and seven dual enrollment courses and has maintained a GPA of 4.289. Beyond the classroom, he is an avid outdoorsman. He was selected for the Maine Youth Wilderness Leadership Program, where he completed a 50-mile backpacking trip through Baxter State Park. In 2025 he hiked over 200 miles of trails. Looking ahead, he plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree of science with a double major in botany and ecology.
