Ashley Merchant is a Lebanon, Maine native who has been a three-sport varsity athlete since her freshman year, competing at a high level in field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. A proven leader, she has served as a co-captain of both the lacrosse and basketball programs since her sophomore year and has been a captain of the field hockey team since her junior year, demonstrating consistent leadership across multiple seasons and sports.Ashley’s athletic accomplishments include earning SMAA All-Rookie honors in both field hockey and lacrosse as a freshman. She was later named to the SMAA Second Team for field hockey during her junior and senior seasons and was also selected to the SMAA All-Academic Team, reflecting her dedication to excellence both on the field and in the classroom.In addition to her competitive career, Ashley contributes to the development of younger athletes as an assistant field hockey coach within the district’s youth program. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and serves as president of the French Honor Society, maintaining a weighted GPA of 3.95.Following graduation, Ashley will attend the University of Maine at Farmington, where she plans to major in Elementary Education and continue her athletic career as a member of the women’s lacrosse program.
