Jamier Rose - Gatorade Player of the Year (2024-2025)

"NOBLE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT-ATHLETE NAMED GATORADE MAINE BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR CHICAGO (March 20, 2025)

In its 40th year of honoring the nation’s most elite high school athletes, Gatorade today announced Jamier Rose of Noble High School is the 2024-25 Gatorade Maine Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Rose is the first Gatorade Maine Boys Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Noble High School. Gatorade Player of the Year is the top honor in high school sports, celebrating the nation’s best high school athletes for their success on the court, in the classroom and in the community. The award distinguishes Rose as Maine's best high school boys basketball player, and he joins an impressive group of alumni that spans CEOs, coaches and star athletes such as Karl-Anthony Towns (2012-13 & 2013-14, St. Joseph High School, N.J.), Jayson Tatum (2013-14, 2014-15 & 2015-16, Chaminade College Preparatory School, Mo.) and Cooper Flagg (2023-24, Montverde Academy, Fl.). The 5-foot-10, 170-pound senior guard led the Nights to an 18-3 record and a berth in Maine’s Class A regional final this past season. Rose averaged 19.3 points. 8.9 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 5.1 steals per game. Rose was named Maine’s 2024-25 Mr. Basketball and is a two-time Southwestern Maine Activities Association Player of the Year. He also won the 2024 Fitzpatrick Award, which is given to the state’s top senior football player, after accounting for 2,456 all-purpose yards and 32 touchdowns as Noble’s starting quarterback. Rose has volunteered locally running youth basketball tournaments and with Noble’s weekend youth programs, accruing 103 hours of community service time. “Every team he plays knows he is the best player and he still finds a way to impact and dominate games,” said Jake Mills, head coach at Sanford High School. “He is an outstanding player and the best player we faced once again this season.” Rose maintained a B average in the classroom. He remains undecided on his collegiate destination this fall. Rose joins recent Gatorade Maine Boys Basketball Players of the Year Pierce Walston (2023-24, Orono High School), William Davies (2022-23, Thornton Academy), Cooper Flagg (2021-22, Nokomis Regional High School) and Cash McClure (2020-21, Maranacook Community High School)."
