Jennifer Hoban

Jennifer Hoban graduated from Hatboro-Horsham in 1995, attended Wilkes University, and majored in English literature, Theater and Secondary Education. She was welcomed into the Phi Beta Kappa, English Honors Society, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her English and Theater degrees in 1999, and completed her Secondary Education Certification in 2001.

As a theater major, Jennifer learned many aspects of theater, from character development to script analysis, light design, set design, and of course, directing. She performed in multiple shows on their main stage and also in the black box theater. In her time at Wilkes, she designed and built sets, stage managed, ran the lights and sound boards, and  made the costumes for every show during her four years of undergrad. Her college job on campus was teaching theater classes to young actors through the Wilkes Community Conservatory on campus. She still managed to sing with the college choir and even had a solo her senior year.

Jennifer was selected to tour with Up With People, an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading friendship and understanding throughout the world through a two-hour musical performance, community service, and staying with host families wherever they go. She even spent the summer as an intern in the Costume Department after her tour.

William Tennent High School quickly became home for Jennifer, where she has taught mostly 10th Grade English for the past 25 years. She is thrilled to work alongside so many friends in different capacities. She assisted with the Marching Band for four years, managing the band front with their marching, and giving them a good laugh whenever she attempted to pick up a flag. She was Co-Director of Black and White night for 10 years, and is currently directing her 10th Fall Play. In the Spring of 2025, Jennifer had the honor of working with a talented group in her first Spring Musical, Mamma Mia. She has also been designing lights for many fall plays and spring musicals.

Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They keep her busy, and her kids currently love to come see what “Mommy” has directed this year. She is lucky enough to have her very supportive parents helping to manage the crazy schedule that comes from active teens and pre-teens. Jennifer has been thrilled to see all three of her children perform in their school musicals and enjoy theater as she has.
