Robotics

We are members of the FIRST community (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology). This mission of FIRST ® is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

We work as a team to accomplish a yearly goal that FIRST creates each year for the project each level of the program follows. Students get divided into various groups depending on their interest and abilities. Those areas include Design, Programming, Electronics and Manufacturing. As students determine what areas they are interested in learning about they work in smaller groups or teams to achieve goals that are placed in front of them with the yearly goal or problem to solve. The build season runs from January-February with team competitions during the months of March and April. Depending on how well we do at the competitions. During the fall months we call our off-season training time to get students up to speed on the program and find their niche to become a member of the program.
