Guiding the Trailblazers’ Cross Country program with dedication and experience is Head Coach Joseph Pflieger, a respected leader who combines strong coaching with a passion for distance running. Pflieger is deeply involved in Sierra Canyon’s athletics and academic community, serving not only as a coach but also as a trusted educator and mentor.

Under his leadership, the coed team has continued to grow in competitiveness within the Mission League and the CIF Southern Section, challenging strong programs across Southern California. Coach Pflieger emphasizes smart training, consistency, and a team culture built on determination and support for one another.

Prior to becoming head coach, Pflieger served as an assistant cross country coach, where he worked closely with athletes to manage rigorous training schedules alongside academic responsibilities. Pflieger’s leadership continues Sierra Canyon’s tradition of competitive distance running and personal growth for student athletes, helping them succeed at every step—whether on race day or beyond.
