Courtland Day Head Coach - Swimming, Coed

Courtland Day has guided Sierra Canyon Swimming to new heights since taking over the coed program. His tenure reached a landmark moment in 2023 when his squad captured the CIF Southern Section Division III Team Championship, the first swimming title in school history and a defining achievement in the broader legacy of Trailblazer athletics.

Day is a former NCAA All-American with more than two decades of coaching experience. He began teaching swimming lessons at the age of sixteen and was quickly promoted to head coach of his local club. After obtaining his bachelor's degree, Day worked at the Museum of Natural History as well as with Asphalt Green, a nonprofit promoting physical fitness and competitive swimming in the five boroughs of New York City. Many of his swimmers have gone on to win state and regional titles, several of whom are now swimming in college. He has taught swimming to people of all ages and skill levels.

Coach Day’s training philosophy centers on technique, conditioning, and competitive mindset. Under his leadership, Sierra Canyon swimmers have improved times across all events—sprints, distance, strokes, and relays—competing with equal strength individually and collectively at championship-level meets. His emphasis on balance, preparation, and resilience has built a program defined by steady growth and a standard of excellence that continues to raise the bar for Sierra Canyon Swimming.
