Class of 2023

Walt Petersen made his mark at RJ Reynolds as a dynamic multi-sport athlete, achieving success in both soccer and track and field.

On the soccer field, Walt was a consistent contributor throughout his career. He earned All-Conference honors in 2020 and followed that with back-to-back seasons in 2021 and 2022 where he was recognized as both All-Conference and All-Region. His steady presence and high level of play helped set the tone for the program.

Walt’s athleticism translated seamlessly to track and field, where he reached new heights in 2023. That season, he earned All-Region and All-State honors in outdoor track, establishing himself as one of the top performers in the state.

Walt’s ability to excel across multiple sports reflects his versatility, work ethic, and competitive drive. He continued his running career at Trinity University in Texas, carrying forward the standard of excellence he established at RJ Reynolds.
