2018 1993 Softball Pitcher

Joanna was a multi-sport student athlete at Columbia, excelling in the sport of softball. She was the Varsity pitcher all four years, pitching the Raiders to four straight MAC-8 Conference Championships, four Sectional Championships, and a District Championship. In a 3-year periodshe struck out 494 batters & had an ERA of 0.829. She recorded 19 shutouts, eight no hitters, and threw two perfect games. Joanna was a 4-time Columbia MVP, named to the MAC-8 Conference 1st Team four times, and on the Lorain County and Northeast District 1st Teams for 3 years. She was selected Plain Dealer Player of the Week several times and named Plain Dealer MVP. She earned a place on the Greater Cleveland Scholastic Team, received the Ohio Scholastic Award, and was 2nd Team All Ohio. She played in the Lorain County All Star Game. Most notably, Joanna was selected by the conference coaches as the Most Valuable Player of the MAC-8 Confernce all four years of her softball career. Joanna was a 3 year Varsity player on the basketball team, earned MAC-8 confernce 2nd Team & Special Mention All Ohio. As a Varsity volleyball player, she was named to the MAC-8 Conference 1st Team & was the CHS MVP. Joanna continued her education at Cleveland State University and received her Master of Education from John Carroll University. Joanna resides in Brunswick and has been teaching for 10 years. She currently teaches AP Government & World History at Lutheran West High School.
