Rob Fronk

Rob Fronk serves as the Varsity Head Football Coach at Apex High School, returning to lead the program that helped shape him as a student-athlete. Originally from Sunrise, Florida, Coach Fronk played football and ran track at Apex before continuing his football career at Hargrave Military Academy and later at NC State University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from NC State and maintains CDL and CPR/First Aid certifications, bringing both leadership and preparation to the role.

Coach Fronk’s approach blends strong relationships with high expectations. A players-first coach with a no-nonsense mindset, he values getting to know his athletes beyond football while demanding respect, accountability, and attention to detail when it is time to work. He believes in doing things the right way and modeling that standard daily, while also empowering players to become leaders within the program. His goal is to build a culture where leadership comes from the locker room as much as it does from the coaching staff.

Before returning to Apex, Coach Fronk spent two seasons at Apex Friendship High School coaching tight ends, receivers, and coordinating special teams. Now leading the Cougars, he is focused on restoring the Apex football program to a level of excellence rooted in its proud tradition and past success. Being named Head Football Coach at Apex is a role he considers a true honor. Outside of football, Coach Fronk enjoys gaming, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and daughters. A proud girl dad, he values the people and community of Apex, which he proudly calls home.
