Kassidy McKay
Kassidy McKay serves as the Junior Varsity Head Coach for the Apex High School Womenβs Soccer program, bringing a lifelong passion for the sport and a player-centered approach to the Cougar program. Originally from Parker, Colorado, Coach McKay has played soccer for more than 19 years and has experience at every position on the field. She competed at the high school and elite club levels and continues to play competitively in adult indoor and outdoor leagues. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Business from Full Sail University and maintains CPR and First Aid certification.
Coach McKay was inspired to coach by her desire to be the kind of leader who helps athletes love the game rather than walk away from it. Her coaching philosophy focuses on developing the whole athlete through skill growth, personal development, and meaningful relationships. She emphasizes communication, trust, respect, compassion, and community, while leading by example and creating an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and proud of their growth.
Coach McKay began her coaching career assisting with private lessons before moving into a director of coaching role with Skyhawks Academy. Each summer, she serves as an assistant coach at University of Colorado Boulder soccer camps, working alongside collegiate coaches. What she enjoys most about Apex is the strong sense of community and family across the athletic department. Outside of soccer, Coach McKay enjoys music, attending concerts, stargazing and learning about astronomy, exploring new languages, reading, and traveling. A fun factβshe has a cat named Atticus, named after her favorite poet.
