Paige Nemec
Paige Nemec serves as the Head Coach of the Apex High School Women’s Wrestling program, bringing passion, perspective, and firsthand experience to a rapidly growing sport. Originally from Mantua, Ohio, Coach Nemec competed in soccer and wrestling during high school and went on to play collegiate soccer at Lake Erie College. She holds a PhD from NC State University and maintains CPR/First Aid and Fundamentals of Coaching certifications.
Coach Nemec was drawn to coaching by a desire to push women’s wrestling forward and support female athletes as they pursue their goals in sport and in life. Having wrestled from the age of five through high school on boys teams, she understands the unique challenges female wrestlers face and uses that perspective to guide and empower her athletes. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes leadership, accountability, and personal responsibility, believing the lessons learned on the mat—discipline, resilience, and confidence—translate directly to success beyond athletics.
In addition to coaching at Apex, Coach Nemec has experience coaching with a local wrestling club and values the collaborative environment within the Apex wrestling program. She greatly appreciates the dedication of her fellow coaches and the shared commitment to providing student-athletes with the best possible experience. Outside of wrestling, Coach Nemec enjoys CrossFit, triathlon training, and hiking with her husband and two dogs. Her journey as a lifelong wrestler continues to inspire the athletes she leads each day.
