Adam Renzi
Adam Renzi serves as the Head Softball Coach at Apex High School, bringing more than two decades of coaching experience and a deep understanding of the game to the Cougar program. Originally from Buffalo, New York, Coach Renzi played baseball through the collegiate level before transitioning into softball coaching at the encouragement of his sister. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a NFCA 4-Star Master Coach, along with maintaining CPR and First Aid certification.
Coach Renzi’s coaching philosophy centers on leadership, standards, and player ownership. He believes student-athletes should be empowered to lead the program as much as they are willing and able, with experienced players teaching and reinforcing expectations to younger teammates. His ability to anticipate game situations and clearly communicate concepts allows athletes to better understand the game and compete with confidence. Coach Renzi emphasizes preparation, accountability, and consistency as the foundation of sustained success.
Since joining Apex in 2021, Coach Renzi has guided the softball program through significant growth and success, including the 2023 4A State Championship, conference championships, and multiple playoff appearances. The 2023 state title stands out as a defining moment in the program’s history. What Coach Renzi enjoys most is the opportunity to develop new athletes each year and continue building the program with intention and purpose. Outside of softball, he enjoys following Buffalo Bills football, working on home improvement projects, and fostering and rescuing dogs.
