His coaching philosophy is built on effort, attitude, and accountability, believing that while talent may vary, commitment never should. He emphasizes responsibility on and off the court and believes consistent effort leads to consistent results. What sets him apart is the time he invests in truly knowing his athletes as people, creating trust and openness that allows players to be coached, challenged, and supported.
Coach Minter has coached extensively through parks and recreation programs and the YMCA at both middle and high school levels, contributing to multiple undefeated seasons and championship teams. He also brings experience as a girls basketball assistant coach and a sprint and jump coach in track & field. What brings him the most joy is watching individuals come together and grow into cohesive teams built on trust, unselfish play, and shared purpose. Coaching at Apex carries special meaning for Coach Minter, as he takes pride in giving back to the school that helped shape him. Outside of athletics, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling to support his nephews at sporting events, golfing, playing volleyball, and connecting with friends. A fun fact—he has appeared or performed on local television three times.
