2015 Class 3A State Champions

One year after just the second State Tournament in school history and the pain of a last-second defeat to the #1 team in the state, the Chargers claimed their first State Championship in school history. Entering the tournament, the Chargers came in as the #4 seed, as the lowest-ranked of the Area winners. In the first round, the Chargers defeated a scrappy and energetic Marlow squad. Moving onto the semifinals, the Chargers matched up with the #1 team in the state: The Atoka Wampus Cats. Atoka had been ranked #1 for the majority of the season and were the overwhelming favorites to win the State Championship. Through 3 quarters, the Chargers and Wampus Cats were relatively even, and that's when the conditioning of the Chargers prevailed, as they ran away with the game in the 4th. In the title tilt, the Chargers faced #2 Verdigris Cardinals. Again, in similar fashion to the semifinals game, the Chargers simply outlasted Verdigris and pulled away near the end of the 3rd and into the 4th quarter. In the end, the well-conditioned Chargers raised the first gold ball in school history!
