1992 Class 3A Team Champions

The 1992 Charger Tennis team went into the State Tournament seeking their 3rd straight title, but were slated as underdogs to the powerful Ada Bulldogs, as they were higher seeds at most levels of the tournament. The "upsets" began in the Quarterfinals, as Brian Bogert '95 and Ryan Stack '94 took out the #3-seeded Ada team. The Semifinals yielded two more head-to-heads, with John Harrington beating the #2 seed in #2 Singles and the #2 Doubles duo of Derek Man '92 and Jeff Harris '94 upending Ada. The clinching moment of the tournament came in the #1 Singles final, as Brandon Bethea '94 defeated Ada's representative. The Chargers prevailed with an overall final score of 30-23 over the Runner-Up Cougars.
