2017 Class 4A State Champions

This year's team won 8 of 9 tournaments including the State & Regional Championships. The Chargers built a 32 shot lead on the first day of the State Tournament and never looked back. By the time the last golfer of the day had putted in on 18, Heritage Hall had extended the lead to 45 shots and captured the program's 6th State Championship in 10 years, and 11th overall. In each of the last 10 years, Charger Golf has finished State Champ or Runner-Up in their class. The 2017 team turned in the best State Championship team score (867) in school history, making them arguably one of the program's greatest squads of all-time.

William McDonald won 4 tournaments this year individually – Purcell, Mustang, 4A Preview & Regionals – and finished State Runner-Up to Newcastle's Dalton Daniel. The Sophomore returns in 2018 to lead the bid for a repeat.

Carson Sparkman tied for first at Weatherford, placed second at Regionals, and 8th at State. The squad's only Senior placed in 6 out of the 9 tournaments the Chargers competed in this season. "We are really going to miss his experience, consistency and leadership next year," reflected Coach Bogert.

Vijay Bhupathiraju peaked at the State Tournament with an opening round of 5-under (67). "VJ" finished 1-under for the State Tournament to garner 6th place individually.
