1987 Class 2A State Champions

After capturing the Regional Championship, the Chargers went on to score 109 points at the State Championships and bring home the school's first ever Track and Field State Championship! Headlined by Brent Johnson '88 and his two individual titles in the Mile and 2-Mile, the Chargers dominated long distance at the state meet and threw in great performances in some of the field events and a couple of sprints in order to bring home the hardware.

Steve Magness '88 - Long Jump (5th), 110 Hurdles (3rd)

Mike Howell '88 - Discus (2nd), Shot Put (2nd)
