2023 State Champions

2023 Class 3A State Champions

Coming off a strong showing at the 2022 State Meet, the boys came into 2023 having to replace star runner and OU Football signee Gavin Freeman in order to make a run at the title.  With multiple new faces stepping onto the sprint relays (River Faulkner '23 and Jerrod Williams '26), the core of the 2022 team returning stronger and faster (Jackson Fowler '23, Andy Bass '24, Demarion Dean '24, and Jordyn Harris '24), and some fresh faces stepping in to score points (Will Blalock '24, Zavier Freeman '24, Caysen Argo '25, and Graham Murphy '26), the Chargers were able to claim the 3A title in 2023.  The tone of the meet was set when the 4x800m Relay upset Rejoice Christian to grab Runner-Up and a massive swing in points.  Rejoice answered with an upset of the Chargers in the 4x200m, which the Chargers answered with a State Championship in the 4x100m.  Several individual performances throughout the meet added up to just enough to get the job done. The Chargers held off the defending 2A Champions, Rejoice Christian, to win the title 116-106.

  • Jordyn Harris '24 - 13 points (State Champion 400m Relay, State Runner-Up 800m Relay, 5th Place 100m)

  • River Faulkner '23 - 10 points (State Champion 400m Relay, State Runner-Up 800m Relay, 8th Place 100m)

  • Jerrod Williams '26 - 9.5 points (State Champion 400m Relay, State Runner-Up 800m Relay, 8th Place 1600m Relay)

  • Zavier Freeman '24 - 6 points (3rd Place Discus)

  • Caysen Argo '25 - 5.5 points (State Runner-Up 3200m Relay, 8th Place 1600m Relay, 8th Place 800m)

  • Demarion Dean '24 - 4.5 points (State Runner-Up 3200m Relay, 8th Place 1600m Relay)
