1997 Class 2A State Champions

Brand new field, brand new success!! The Chargers hosted their first tournament, won the district title in run-rule fashion, then won the Regional title by an average of over 8 runs. In the first round of the State Tournament in Norman, the Chargers upset #1 Panama 3-0. In the smifinals, the girls faced another top-5 team in the Washington Warriors, topping them 2-1 to advance to play Preston in the State Championship. Behind impeccable fielding, the Chargers were able to sew up their 24th win of the season with a 3-0 victory and a State Championship.
