A proud 2014 graduate of Colonie Central High School, Tristen Jarvis has distinguished himself as a versatile and impactful figure in the world of music. As an accomplished upright and electric bassist, producer, arranger, composer, and teaching artist, Tristen brings a powerful blend of creativity, technical mastery, and passion to every endeavor.

He has performed with esteemed classical ensembles such as the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, The Orchestra Now, and the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra. He is also featured on the GRAMMY Award-winning soundtrack of Netflix’s Maestro, directed by Bradley Cooper. Tristen’s musical versatility spans all genres from orchestral works and solo recitals to jazz festivals and rock tours. He has played arenas opening for Joan Jett and Halestorm alongside Moriah Formica, appeared as a sideman with “Mr. Las Vegas” Wayne Newton, and produced recordings with guitarist/ songwriter Aaron Rizzo of NBC’s The Voice and GRAMMY-nominated jazz drummer Nate Smith.

Tristen earned his bachelor’s degree in music performance from Ithaca College and a master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Tristen continues to lead in music education. He currently serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Bass at Ithaca College, Visiting Lecturer at Cornell University, and faculty member at the Opus Ithaca School of Music and New England Music Camp. He is also a respected clinician and presenter, and was most recently featured at the 2024 Winter NYSSMA Conference.

Throughout his journey, Tristen has remained committed to using music as a tool for healing, empowerment, and connection. He proudly shares his South Colonie roots, serving as an advocate for arts education and a role model for aspiring musicians. His achievements and dedication exemplify the highest ideals of the Colonie Central High School Hall of Fame.
