Barry John Quigley led a life of service to his community and to his country until his death in 2018. He was a 1963 graduate of Colonie Central High School and immediately after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army at just 17-years-old.

Serving in West Germany and Southeast Asia, Quigley was a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the 75th Ranger Infantry Regiment and received two bronze stars for heroism, as well as three Purple Hearts, among other awards.

Quigley’s wounds in his service to our country led to his retirement from the Army in 1970. He returned to the Capital Region and graduated from Siena College in 1975. His family says Quigley lived a life full of adventure. He went on to become an award-winning equestrian, a part-time movie actor, and a working cowboy.
