RJ Harvey is one of Colonie High School’s most exceptional multi-sport athletes, excelling in football, basketball, and track & field. On the football field, he was named 1st Team All-Area from 1999–2001, rushed for over 1,000 yards in both the 2000 and 2001 seasons, and earned the 2000 Troy Record Offensive Player of the Year along with 3rd Team All-State honors. In basketball, RJ was a key member of the 1999 team that advanced to the New York State Finals and contributed to Section II championships in 1999 and 2000. On the track, he was the 2001 New York State runner-up in the 100m dash and still holds Colonie’s 100m record at 10.61 seconds. RJ earned a full scholarship to the University of New Hampshire, where he continued to shine as a dual-sport athlete. He led the Atlantic 10 Conference in touchdowns in 2003 and captured the conference 100m championship. A versatile and electrifying athlete, RJ’s legacy continues to inspire, especially his three sons.
