Edward Winders has worked as chairman of a Long Island-based engineering and architectural firm. Prior to purchasing this firm, he was corporate senior vice president of another engineering organization for 17 years. 

He started his professional career as assistant commissioner at the New York State Department of Transportation in 1976. Three years later he was appointed deputy commissioner of the State Racing and Wagering Board.

At 25 years old, he served as a member of the Albany County Legislature from 1968 to 1975 and as a minority leader in 1974. He is the recipient of numerous awards and has been a member and head of many local and civil community boards.
