Since Julia DeVillers graduated from Colonie Central High School in 1985 she’s seen her words play out on the page and on the small screen. She’s published several middle grade and young adult novels and is currently on a national tour for her latest novel, “Meet Me at Wonderland.” Her 2004 novel, “How My Private, Personal Journal Became a Bestseller” turned into the Disney Channel Original movie “Read it and Weep” in 2006.

DeVillers earned her undergraduate degree from SUNY Oswego and a masters in Journalism from Ohio State University. Her friends say DeVillers’ writing roots trace all the way back to Nancy Guest’s first grade classroom at Shaker Road Elementary School. They say Mrs. Guest encouraged her to keep writing and share it with her classmates. 

DeVillers continues to mentor other writers to this day, offering patient, positive support to other young writers who dream to see their works published too.
