After graduating from SUNY Albany, she returned to South Colonie to teach. She has been published in the Journal of Business Education.

As a trustee of the Schalmont Board of Education, she has worked to provide a less-toxic environment for students. Because of her efforts, Schalmont Schools have been recognized as a statewide leader in environmental efforts.
