Noah Rutledge
Noah Rutledge serves as the Head Junior Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Apex High School and is a proud Apex alumnus. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Coach Rutledge grew up playing football and basketball and went on to play football at Apex for all four years of high school. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from NC State University and is licensed in Social Studies, with CPR and First Aid certifications.
Coach Rutledge is driven by his love for the strategic side of sport and the powerful role teaching plays in coaching. Inspired by leaders such as Nick Saban, his coaching philosophy centers on creating environments built on high expectations, accountability, and genuine care for one another. He believes that developing players as people, building strong relationships, and holding athletes to high standards both on and off the field creates a winning culture athletes want to be part of. His ability to connect with players is reflected in the way his teams compete.
Coach Rutledge began coaching at a young age, working with middle school basketball programs as early as ninth grade, and has continued to grow within the Apex community. His accomplishments include guiding undefeated seasons for the 2025 JV football team and the 2024 JV lacrosse team. One of his most meaningful coaching experiences has been coaching his younger brother and watching him grow in confidence and rediscover his love for lacrosse. As an Apex alumnus, Coach Rutledge values the opportunity to give back to the school and community that helped shape him. Outside of athletics, he enjoys fishing, trying new restaurants, cooking, running, and shares a special connection to Apex, having met his wife there when he began teaching in 2021.
