Bonnie Vitti, a Class of 1997 graduate, excelled on the softball field during her time as a Rye Neck Panther. She broke countless school records as a student-athlete, many of which still stand today. She recorded a record breaking 231 at bats during her Rye Neck Softball career, a record that still stands. Vitti also notched 171 career RBIs, a record that is still unbroken. Other school-records that Vitti still holds include most consecutive games played in at 91 consecutive games and in the field she made 142 career assists. At the time, during her softball career, Vitti had broken and held school records for career hits at 96 and single season RBIs at 47.
Vitti was named Team Captain for the 1997 season, her senior year. For her achievements on the field, Vitti was named All-State in 1996, three-time All-League, two time All-Section, Gannett First Team in 1996, and was a ConEd Award recipient. At the end of her senior campaign, the team named Vitti the Rye Neck Team MVP in 1997.
