2025 2015 Football Athlete
A 2015 graduate of Rye Neck High School, Dominic Brescia was a three sport athlete who played ice hockey and ran track, but excelled on the football field.
Dom is the owner of one of the most storied careers on Rye Neck’s gridiron. A four year starter, Dom’s impact started early and grew throughout his high school years contributing to the football team’s greatest run to states.
A 3 year all-league and all-section honoree in football, Dom was a towering presence in the conference and the state - earning All-State honorable mention in 2012, All-State 2nd team in 2013, and All-State, 1st team in his senior season.
His junior year, Dom’s impact led the team to a state finals appearance in the Syracuse Dome. That defeat was likely an impetus to a stellar senior season, in which he set 7 school records that still stand.
Those include:
Most All- Purpose Yards - 3,761
Single Season Rushing Yards - 1,678
Career Rushing Yards - 3,317
Most carries in a game - 43
Most yards per carry - 9
Games over 200 yards - 4
Games over 300 yards - 2
And, he is still second in career points with 208.
In his senior season, two games were most notable. Against Blind Brook, Dom ran for 312 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. This would have been the highlight to any career, except a few weeks earlier against rival Tuckahoe he ran for 391 yards scoring 4 touchdowns on 43 carries. Along with his other awards, Dom also earned the Blue Ribbon Award for Character, Service and Leadership, and Rye Neck’s Male Outstanding Athlete Award.
He furthered his career at Merrimack College where he majored in business, and then completed his degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tampa. Currently he is CEO and founder of The Brescia Group focusing on the Florida real estate market.
