1986 Basketball Athlete

Shawn Jefferson, a Class of 1986 graduate, was a five year starter for the Rye Neck Panthers’ Girls Basketball Team. During her playing career, she averaged 17 points per game and 15 rebounds per game. At the time, Jefferson broke and held the school record as All-Time Leading Career Scorer with 1,275 points. That record would later be broken by Johanna McNelis.

While at Rye Neck, for her efforts on the basketball court, Jefferson was named a four-time All-League Player, two-time All-Section, three-time Team MVP, and was a four-time Team Captain.
