Michael Dearwester, a three sport standout, graduated from Rye Neck High School in 2006. One of the most accomplished athletes to play for Rye Neck, Michael was named all-league four consecutive years in football, basketball and baseball; all-section twice in football, twice in basketball and three times in baseball and garnered all-state honors twice in football, twice in basketball and once in baseball. He was also a Con Ed award winner and Old Timer’s Award recipient.


On the gridiron, Michael still holds many single season and career records at Rye Neck.  He helped lead his team to two sectional final bowl appearances and senior year he was named Section 1 Running Back of the Year. In 2010, he was selected to The Journal News “All Decade Football Team.” Michael continued his football career in the Ivy league playing for Dartmouth College. 


He matched his prowess on the football field in both basketball and baseball. Over the span of his five year varsity basketball career, Michael garnered numerous honors and is still one of the top three all-time scorers. In his senior year, he led the team to the County Center during sectional championship week. Equally impressive, in his junior year, he played on the sectional championship baseball team and ended his four year career with a batting average of .419 and a pitching record of 18-3 with a 1.32 era.


He is the only athlete in Section I history to win the prestigious Golden Dozen, Court of Excellence and Diamond 9 scholar athlete awards.
