2021 2015 Tennis | Softball Athlete

Diana King, a graduate from the Class of 2015, is one of the most accomplished athletes in Rye Neck’s history who displayed her prominence on both the tennis court and softball diamond.

Diana began her varsity tennis career as an eighth grader and had an immediate impact which earned her All-League status, an honor she would garner for all five years of her career.  Needless to say, that was only the beginning of an extremely impressive run on the court.  By her sophomore year, she was Conference Doubles Champion and participated in the State Tournament which earned her 2nd team All-State honors.  Her junior year was even more impressive, winning the Conference Doubles Championship, the Section I Doubles Championship and advancing to the quarterfinals of the New York State Doubles Championship. She was also named All-League, All-Section and 1st team All State.  Diana ended her career with the team with a 54-8 record after being selected All-League 5 times, All-Section 3 times and All-State twice.

Diana’s mastery on the courts is eclipsed only by her dominance on the diamond.  In her 4 year varsity career she was a powerhouse on offense recording 128 hits and 112 RBI’s.  On the mound, she posted 53 wins, 21 of which were shutouts, while only suffering 14 losses. A force to be reckoned with, Diana recorded 744 strikeouts in her career which contributed to a 1.28 career ERA. Diana was highly honored for her efforts as she was named to All-League 4 times, All-Section 3 times and All-State twice.

She continued her softball career at New York University where, as of 2019, she set numerous hitting and pitching records.  Offensively, Diana held single game records for RBIs (7), homeruns (2) and stolen bases (4). And single season records for at bats (55), runs (43), hits (59), triples (5), stolen bases (24), and games played (41). Her 9 wins on the mound and 3 shutouts were also single season bests.  She was named to the University Athletic Association   (UAA)All-Tournament team in 2016 and was 1st Team All-UAA for 3 years.

Diana graduated from NYU in 2019 with a B.S. in Media, Culture and Communications with a minor in Business of Entertainment, Media and Technology. She works as a paid media manager at ForwardPMX, a brand performance digital marketing agency.
